But it's all just the way that we cope with our lives...

Bones : Some of Us

A nice video of Agent Booth and Dr. Bones to the background song of "Some of Us" by Starsailor. Was testing the out my now confirm GGed amplifier and used the Bones dvd to check. Ended up watching one whole episode which featured this song. Think I am going to get hooked to this series.

Well its been another usual nothing interesting day in the life of Kenneth. Woke up with an ache in my legs. I think I shouldn't have pushed myself too hard last night. There is no way I am going to do 12min for my 2.4km since I have not even gone for a jog for 4 months since my toe got injured.

Spent the afternoon walking around sim lim square looking for some thingy for my computer. CNY is coming and decided to give my computer a good clean up. Did some rearrangements to the stuff inside and now it looks alot better. Although I spent like 1 hours trying to figure out how to mount my new little hoots though.

Its gonna be another long day tomorrow as I got lessons in the afternoon and IPT again in the evening. Hope my body recovers... still hurts abit when I cough... why did I try to do so many sit ups... lols...

Cheers,
Kenneth ;)

A Tribute to Friends... The people who will get you through...

Gundam 00 2nd Ending

Full Music Video Version

Ending songs for Gundam anime never fail to impress me with the latest one being the 2nd ending sung by Stephanie called "Friends"

We used to have the same smile
But too many years have passed since then
And I am tormented by the fact that we couldn't accept each other
So, I cast off my pride
To bring tenderness to this world
I've got to say
Even if you show courage and pretend to be strong
You can't live all alone
The promise we made on that day
Remain deep in my heart
If life goes on
You must not be afraid, yeah
Don't let it go
This vast land and your friends

translated by shinsen subs

A nice song talking about the friends that you have and meet along life's journey. Something I am learning to sort out as the days go by. The ones who matter to you and those that I am learning to slowly let go.

Anyway I am going to send in my resume to an a company dealing with IT products for the position of Product Executive. And I got this feeling its going to be an Interest vs Pay job if I do get it.

Well either way its going to be very interesting since it will be my first serious job application as part of my uni life... or whats left of it.

Ok time to get some sleep.
Cheers,
Kenneth. :)

And I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well

"Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional

Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself

---

Yes I know I may be young, inexperienced, still a school boy and easily contented. But hey that does not mean you can treat me like that. I eat my own ego to apologise to you and not even a reply. I took the step to intro myself and say hi and offer my hand. And you gave me that look...

A picture paints a thousand words so:

Hmm... Looks like nothing wrong with it...

Well looks like I was not wrong after all...

Enough said.

Cheers,
Kenneth.

*Thanks to Elliott as well. Even though I did not ask you for anything, I remember what you told me about being younger and thus having more stamina and more willingness to go and try out. Yup I tried out and I was not wrong.

Also to my sis and junyuan for not letting me do the wrong thing. I should not and will not drop to their level.*

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting...

A really nice trailer for the game Football Manager 2008. A game I think I want to re-visit to take my mind of things. A truely inspiring poem based on the original by Rudyard Kipling called "IF".

"IF"

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

-Rudyard Kipling

And so starts the whole motion again of tutorials, lab sessions and assignments. But yet I am still in the holiday mood. Or rather I am still "sulking" about IT that I have not yet found the motivation to get myself started.

Well I got an assignment due this thursday and I am only 10% done. Will be going out tmr afternoon so that means even less time to complete it. Looks like its going to be one crazy wednesday as I hope to get it all done in one day.

So until then, I guess all I can do is continue to wait it out.

Good Nights World.
Kenneth.

When all faith is gone, I fight myself to carry on...

"How Can I Fall" by Breathe

Ok feeling very emo over the weekend. So many things at one go plus the feeling like I just came back from field camp does not help. So many things to consider, so many things to plan and yet another regret to add to the list. Thus the rather retro emo song.

Anyway today was rather normal. Dozed off during message(sorry was very tired), went for lunch with parents and finally helped my dad with his monitor problem. He finally decided to get the 20" Acer LCD. So went Funan with him from marina square to get the stuff. Got a new DVD player which looks quite nice as well. And found out the amplifier decided to die on us. Darn, just when I thought can watch movies on the 32" LCD TV. After all, there is no way my 20" LCD monitor can compete with that.

Also was talking to Amos about what he intends to do since He ORDed liaos. Plus abit of conversation with Benny and Weefoong about getting a job. All adds to the whole over thinking process in my brain. Looks like I cant put off not looking for a job and must seriously consider what I wanna do after I grad which is in less then half a year.

Would finding a job and moving onto the next phrase of my life help me out of this "problem" that has been bugging me? Only God knows. So I guess I will have to keep on stuggling and trusting until the time comes.

Kenny trying to figure out what I am busy with.

The new 20" Acer LCD. Not bad for its price I must say.

Ok time to catch up on sleep.
Nights,
Kenneth :)

A World To Believe In...

"A World To Beleive In" by Yuna Ito x Celine Dion

A nice duet done by Yuna Ito and powerhouse Celine Dion. Have always enjoyed Celine Dion's songs and when I found out she did a duet with a Japanese singer from the forums, I just had to take a look.

And boy was I suprised. Well I am no music critic but some of Yuna Ito's other songs with both Japanese and English lyrics are not bad. There was no break in the flow of music from Japanese to English and back. Well at least not to me so thats good enough for me.

Looks like one more Japanese singer to add to my play list.

On the other note, today was spent waking up late as I had a very late night the night before. Afternoon was spent at YFC where I had a refresher course in basic graphics design and played abit with photoshop. Very rusty liaos.

Then it was off to PS to meet up with Elliott and Herbert before heading over to Elliott's place for the usual Movie Marathon. Watched Beverly Hills Cop and boy was it funny. Guess its been retro movies one after another and I am looking forward to the next one.

Finished abit earlier this time as I was stoning out and Charlene was feeling rather tired. Poor girl has to work tomorrow while the rest of us can sleep in. Ok maybe not for me as I am going out tmr morning but at least I get to sleep longer.

Rest well and enjoy your concert tomorrow. :)

Eh... Where did the sweets come from?

Playing with Photoshop. Wanted to add the line "Radio: Are You Listening?" but din have the right font type.

Nights,
Kenneth ;)

The Return Of The King...

During the early hours of a Singapore Thursday morning, in a week where things cannot get any worst, such news is uplifting.

The King has returned to Saint Jame's Park.

"Tyneside was preparing itself for the third coming tonight after Newcastle owner Mike Ashley handed Kevin Keegan a sensational return as manager."

"King Kev makes Newcastle return"

And the list goes on. It was such an uplifting event that in the FA Cup 4th Round, a round best remembered by everyone where giant killers emerge and big clubs fight for their right to carry on, a 10 men Toon army fights back to erase their previous shame.

Newcastle 4, Stroke 1

And it seems the fans had their share of the moment:

And hopefully the guy(s) who made this video:

Will be having a harder time deciding which one to include for 2007/2008 as there will be too many candidates to choose from.

And so as loyal fans of Black and White look towards this Saturday's match against Bolton with renewed hope, I too pray for the Keegan Era to return to Saint Jame's Park once again.

Howay the Lads,
Kenneth :D

果てしないこの空もいつかは終わりを告げる,この目に焼きついた君を忘れはしない.

"Metamorphoze" by Gackt

Righto, so I dun know much about Gackt but anyone who has a hand in a gundam series song makes it to my play list. The song is featured into a compilation movie trilogy for the Zeta Gundam series. Good stuff ^_^

Anyway tomorrow is the last of my intensive lectures before a short break and the tutorials start piling in with an assignment almost every week. There goes my social life again.

Looks like I will be rushing work through Chinese New Year and V Day as well. Plus my upcoming IPT session, I think I will survive this year since I will be too busy and occupied to worry about anything.

Other than that, its been a boring week so far. Go to school for lecture, go home to print notes and play game and repeat the cycle.

Looking forward to the weekend though. Going back to YFC on friday afternoon and saturday morning, hopefully will get my hands on a new toy to bench and the job fair to get me started on thinking about a job once I grad.

Looks like a packed weekend for me.

Cheers,
Kenneth :)

*And yes Sebaz, the MacBook Air looks good. Its darn thin lah. But cost a bomb also. I rather spend abit more and get a MBP if you ask me ;)*

We're ready to believe you!

Well its been a busy school week for me. Back from the last of the dreaded 6 hours lecture saturday. Brain still abit blank from all the heavy theory stuff taught today. And the fact that I did not have enough sleep last night did not help.

Joined the movie groupie for the movie marathon where the movie(s) for the night were Ghostbusters 1 & 2. Yup both movies in one night if you are wondering. Lots of fun, laughter, food and drinks to make the night just right. A good way to relax after completing the whole set of "Distributed Systems" module lectures.

Can't wait for the round of movie marathon.

Eh why got chips inside also ah?

Thats much better.

We're ready to believe you!

Cheers,
Kenneth. :D

Nobody said it was easy, No one ever said it would be so hard...

"The Scientist" by Coldplay

Nice piano ballad by coldplay. Kinda seems to be talking about "The Birthmark", a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the story, a scientist forgets about the love of his life due to his devotion to science. He then realises his mistake when it is already too late, as her death now haunts him.

But for me, the words that hit me the most are:

Nobody said it was easy,
No one ever said it would be so hard.

Its so easy to give advise to people about certain issues as the 3rd party where emotions are not involved. But as the person involved with emotions in the picture its a different story. And its never easy when emotions are there. But yet it can sometimes be so hard as well.

In the end maybe its just best to let things happen and maybe the best way to learn is through experience.

Oh well but thats just me I guess.

Kenneth :)

Start Of A New Work Year...

Ok so I know the new year starts on the 1st of Jan. But for me, the start of the work year starts on the first monday of the new year. Reason being I was still in the holiday mood since 1st of Jan which is a public holiday was so near the weekend which got burnt by lectures.

Anyway now that my mind is back to work mode, its alot easier to concentrate on things and my forecast for January looks rather work orientated.

Intensive lectures all the way till the middle of January with a 3 day break before the whole set of tutorials and lab sessions start and ending off with the start of my IPT session, this time at Khatib camp starting in the last week of January.

Also need to plan out when to cut my hair so the next time I cut will be after Chinese New Year where hopefully the price of cutting hair will be back to normal. My injured toe is getting better and hopefully I can start my warm up jogs one week before my IPT start so that I dun get worn out so easily.

Other than that, everything is fairly normal now, nothing much happening yet so hopefully things will stay this way. Looks like its gonna be a tough 2 modules with more theory(yucks) stuff to remember.

And on a side note, its good to see Randy back in church and bible study sessions. Gives a little more "oomf" to the session.

A shot of the SIM ceiling from below. Got this idea from Melissa. Its her hp wallpaper.

The inside of my 2008 calander:

The sides have this flip thingy to show your "status". Think its for the office so I guess when I grad and find a job it will come in handy :D

Cheers,
Kenneth ;)

A New Year Ahead...

And so its the start of the new year and the start of another school term. First lesson is on friday which is taking forever to come and my results for last term are not out yet.
Yup what a way to start my new year.

Well looking back, lots of things happened in 2007.

In the people department, friends come and friends go but I am glad that I managed to make new ones. Some of whom have become close friends which I am thankful for. And those who have gone, well all I can say is whatever. Its about time I did some auditing to my friend's list anyway. And of cos those who never left, always glad to have them around.

In the study/career department, I cleared my modules pretty well so far and now am awaiting for my final term's marks. Should go ok I guess. And hopefully my credit average will still remain. Also its nice to know more people in the hardware industry better. From people at sls to some of the distros. Managed to do end user reviews for some of the hardware and gained more experience in terms of hardware knowledge and overclocking. Hopefully more will come in 2008 and I continue to build my credentials in the local hardware scene.

In the personal department, I have definitely grown over the year. With each trial and difficulty and falling down, I picked myself up and moved on. Sometimes slower then expected but just glad that I still continue fighting and struggling. And as more changes and decisions will appear this year, I am confident I will pull through thanks to the people around me and not forgetting HIM up there guiding me.

Although I must say that things will be different this year though. Have to start moving out of the undergrad way of thinking and into a professional working person's mentality. And also to stop worrying about people who are no longer worth it.If these people cant be bothered to try to even help themselves and move on, so be it. I rather focus on more important stuff.

A Coolermaster Calender to welcome you to 2008.

Whoa, this is heavy...

Well a quick recap for the last few days.

Monday was spent rushing around getting stuff for my final upgrade of the year. Decided to do a partial overhual of my pc and get some parts upgraded in preparation for the new year and the new "wolfdale" processor that will be coming out during the Jan-Feb period. Looks like I know what my red packet money is going into.

After doing initial testing and benchmarking for my end user mini review on the forums, it was off to church for the annual watch night service. After that Charlene and Roxy came over to fetch me to meet Herbert and Elliott to what is to be the start of the movie marathon. We watched Back To The Future 1 at Charlene's place.

Tuesday was spent sleeping in and pushing my graphic card to another level of core speeds. Yup, the card in my pc is the fastest un modified card around now with a core speed of 945mhz. The next step is 958 and I still cannot get it to stay stable so I will leave it as that.

Then it was off to send Charlene off at Terminal 2 and having dinner with Charlene and WeiMing. Then it was off to Herbert's place for part 2 of our Movie Marathon. There we watched part 2 of the trilogy.

Cant wait for part 3 this Friday.

My Final Hoot for 2007.
